About by Abbas
Karachi, it is suspected, was around in the days when a Macedonian named Alex was calling the shots. It’s changed with the times, even though KESC hasn’t upgraded its grid system since then and the Suzuki Mehran still looks the same. What started off as a fishing village is now inhabited by over 16 million people of which only an estimated 0.139% have ever fished for anything in their lives. Go figure. It remains, however, one of the few places where a scene from a Bond movie has been filmed. And that’s how the 007 ballroom at Beach Luxury Hotel got its name.
Join us in our rediscovery of our hometown, and maybe our country as well. Maybe you’ll find them too.
I also blog at the Abbasnama.
